OUR STORY
The story of MVR began long before it had a name. It began in Mexicali during the early working years of Rogelio Velázquez, who learned from a young age the value of perseverance, hard work, and earning a place through consistency.
His first steps in the workforce were at Mercado Braulio Maldonado, an important part of Mexicali’s commercial community. Among warehouses, suppliers, merchants, and customers, Rogelio learned the business from the ground up and discovered a principle that would become central to the way he works: good business is built on relationships, responsibility, and trust.
Over the years came new opportunities, different roles, and new challenges. Each experience added knowledge and helped build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and people across the industry. Yet the desire to build something of his own remained: a company where he could work by his own principles, make his own decisions, and provide the level of service and attention he believed customers deserved.
But the vision went beyond building a company.
Rogelio wanted to build something that would outlast his own career. Something his children could be proud of, something that represented the work and values of their family, and something they could one day continue, strengthen, and carry into a new generation.
Along that journey, the support of his wife was essential. Her encouragement, trust, and partnership made an important difference as years of experience and professional relationships became a new chapter for the family. MVR was not born only from a business decision, but from a shared vision and the desire to build something lasting together.
With the support of his family and the trust of customers and relationships built over the years, taking the next step began to make sense.
That is how MVR was born.
MVR began operations with one tractor and one trailer. Soon after, the pandemic brought one of the company’s first major challenges.
Larger-scale contracts helped strengthen operations, expand commercial relationships, and accelerate the company’s growth.
MVR currently operates 14 tractors and nearly 30 trailers, boxes, and other equipment to support its transportation and logistics operations.
MVR’s experience is also deeply connected to agriculture and cross-border trade. Rogelio Velázquez is an agricultural engineer with more than 40 years of experience in agricultural products, exports, imports, and commercial logistics. That knowledge allows MVR to understand not only transportation, but also many of the needs that arise before and after freight reaches the road.
With that experience, MVR can coordinate end-to-end logistics solutions from product purchase through final destination, including transportation, customs coordination, and other components required in the import or export process. Depending on the project, these services can be structured within a single proposal to simplify the customer’s operation.
Rather than starting from zero, MVR represents the evolution of an entire career. It is a company built on years of experience, market knowledge, and especially the trust of those who already knew Rogelio’s way of working and chose to continue alongside him in this new chapter.
That family spirit remains part of the company’s structure. His wife and children are members of MVR’s Board of Directors, not only as the next generation, but as part of the vision on which the company was founded: grow together, protect what has been built, and ensure that the values behind MVR remain present in every new stage.
Today, MVR carries the Velázquez family name as part of its identity and the commitment to doing things right as part of its philosophy. What began with long workdays at Braulio Maldonado became, years later, a family company with a clear vision: provide attentive, responsible, and reliable service while building something that can endure for generations.
